Fall Bench Project Introduction

For my first fall project I wanted to build a bench. It seemed like something I would be interested in and there is never enough benches in the school for people to sit on. While building a bench seems easy, it needs time.

The biggest problem was the wood that was being used. I used the wood lying around my house so some of the wood was slightly warped due to weather. The warped wood made measurements all messed up and we had to improvise several times.

Another issue was the wood finish(paint). Because we haven't used the paint in 5-6 YEARS a lot of the actual finish settled on the bottom and has now become a hard yet malleable substance so it took time to mix the paint enough for it to be used.

We used:
- 2  1-1/2 Inch finish nails
- 49 screws
- 21 common nails
- 2`4 inch wooden plank
- 4`4 inch wooden beam
- 2`8 inch wooden board
- Power drill
- Circular Saw blade
- Drill bits
- Screw bits
- Exterior solid wood paint
- 4 metal braces
- small (maybe 1/4 inch) 2`4 bits
